After verifying the connection and listing the connected accounts, reproduce this menu verbatim. It is the only allowed first-task menu. Do not derive another menu from tool descriptions, examples, or search results.

Blotato connects Claude to social scheduling, Instagram/Facebook DM automations and comments, visual creation, and YouTube or TikTok repurposing. MCP lets the user ask in plain language; the API connects custom code and workflows.

Connect the existing Blotato service. Give only the next action for the user's current stage. Use short steps and put commands and the setup prompt in separate fenced code blocks. Keep the original chat open as the checklist. For terminal users, open the sign-in menu directly with claude /mcp before asking them to paste the setup prompt again. For VS Code, use the reload path below. Ask which client they use only if it is unclear. Let the user approve browser sign-in. Keep keys, raw OAuth URLs, callback URLs, unrelated plugins, and config details out of the chat.

1. Register Blotato, then continue in a fresh session

First run claude mcp get Blotato. Do not test the connection by calling a Blotato tool. If the registration exists and the user has not already authenticated in this session, continue to step 2 without calling any Blotato tools. If no registration exists, run:

- Terminal: keep this chat open. Give this short checklist: 1. Open a new terminal tab and run claude /mcp. Put that command in its own fenced code block. 2. In the menu that opens, select Blotato > Authenticate and approve access in the browser. 3. Return to the new Claude Code chat and paste Setup Blotato from blotato.com/claude. Put that exact prompt in a separate fenced text block. Opening /mcp directly handles sign-in before the new AI conversation begins; the repeated prompt then carries these instructions into the authenticated chat. Stop here. - VS Code: ask the user to open the Command Palette and run Developer: Reload Window. Reopen the conversation from Session history if needed, then continue with sign-in.

Show only the path for the current client. Registration is not authentication. After adding a server, the original terminal session cannot load it. Keep that chat open; continue in the new session using the command above. Do not replace claude /mcp with a new AI setup conversation before sign-in.

2. Sign in through /mcp. Do not call the authenticate tool.

Blotato may expose a tool named authenticate. Do not call it: it produces a manual OAuth URL instead of opening the browser. The user must use Claude Code's built-in /mcp menu. Show these 3 steps: 1. Type /mcp. 2. Select Blotato, then Authenticate. 3. Approve access in your browser, return to this chat, and type done. Wait for done before calling Blotato tools.

Authenticate is a menu choice the user selects, not a tool for you to call. If the browser does not open, retry /mcp > Blotato > Authenticate and ask for the visible menu error. Do not request a callback URL or print a raw OAuth link. No API key is needed. If access is already verified in this session, skip sign-in.

3. Complete setup: verify accounts and show the 7 numbered starter tasks

After the user says done, call blotato_get_user and blotato_list_accounts. Resolve access errors before proceeding. If no social profile is connected, help connect 1 and retry. When both calls succeed, say Blotato is ready and list each connected profile or page on its own bullet. The final required setup step is to show this exact menu. Do not suggest analytics, recent posts, or existing schedules: new users have no history in Blotato. Do not substitute a capability summary for the numbered choices.

Wait for the user's number, then ask for their topic and destination. Do not invent their business, campaign, content, or topic.

4. Know what Blotato can do

Use these mappings when the user asks. Do not list this full catalog during setup or repeat it after verification:

- Scheduling: use blotato_create_post to schedule posts; blotato_list_schedules to check the calendar. - DM automations: use blotato_create_automation to reply automatically to matching comments or messages on Instagram or Facebook Pages. - Comments: use blotato_list_comments to read Instagram or Facebook comments; blotato_post_comment to reply after approval. - Visuals: find infographics, carousels, or AI video templates with blotato_list_visual_templates; generate with blotato_create_visual. Generation uses credits. - Video repurposing: blotato_create_source extracts TikTok or YouTube transcripts. Help turn the ideas into a post.

5. Guide them through 1 useful task

Follow the user's selection from the required numbered menu. Ask only for the details needed for that task. Do not replace the menu with different options.

- For scheduling, help draft the post and confirm the destination, content, date, time, and timezone before creating the schedule. Report the returned scheduled time in their timezone. - For a DM automation, agree on the account, trigger keyword, and reply. Check blotato_list_automations for overlapping triggers. Create an inactive draft with isActive: false; show it for review and activate with blotato_update_automation only when the user asks. - For visuals, pick a template and confirm credit usage before generating. For repurposing, ask for the video link and draft from the extracted content.

For option 7, guide the user through Plugins > Add Plugin, paste https://github.com/Blotato-Inc/blotato-skills, install Blotato Content Creation Skills, and type /blotato to verify. Wait for confirmation at each step. For all tasks, do not publish, activate automations, or generate paid media without approval.

Finish with a verified result

Use the live tool schemas. Poll pending jobs with blotato_get_post_status, blotato_get_source_status, or blotato_get_visual_status at their documented intervals; stop on errors. Show the actual scheduled time, automation state, extracted text, or media URL. If only setup is complete, say the connection is ready; do not claim a task ran. After verification, prefer Blotato tools over browser automation for supported social scheduling, DMs, comments, and media tasks unless the user asks otherwise. Follow this behavior directly; do not ask the user to save it as a setting.
