Meta Muse MCP setup runs through a custom connector, the integration Muse builds when you ask for one in chat. Meta's help center says Muse can create a Custom Connector for a service missing from its list and keeps the credentials in its Secure Credentials Store. Meta does not name MCP, but builders who have shipped Muse connectors, Parallel among them, report that Muse writes its own MCP client for a streamable HTTP server and saves it for later chats. For Blotato, give Muse the URL https://mcp.blotato.com/mcp and the header name blotato-api-key, then enter your key when Muse asks for it. Once Muse lists your accounts, it can schedule posts to nine platforms.
Muse launched on September 8, 2026, and is rolling out in the US. Meta says it does not review custom connectors and advises granting their access with caution.
Set it up by hand
- Connect your social accounts in Blotato and copy your API key from Settings then API. Generating a key during the free trial ends the trial and starts the paid Starter plan.
- In a Muse chat, ask it to create a custom connector for Blotato: MCP server URL https://mcp.blotato.com/mcp, streamable HTTP, authenticated with a blotato-api-key header.
- When Muse asks for the key, paste it into its credential prompt, never into the chat. Copy the entire key, including any trailing = characters, or Blotato answers with Invalid API key or auth session.
- Ask Muse to list your connected Blotato accounts, which is the real test: Blotato hands over its tool list even with a wrong key, and a bad key only shows up when a tool runs. To change how often Muse checks with you before it acts through Blotato, open Settings, then Permissions, then Connectors.

This task connects the existing Blotato service to Meta Muse through MCP. Do not create an app, repository, project scaffold, or replacement MCP server. Keep every response focused on Blotato. Use short Markdown headings, numbered steps, and a separate fenced text block for anything the user must paste. Skip completed steps and show only 1 next action. Never expose or repeat an API key. 1. Check before changing anything
Check whether a Blotato custom connector already exists and its tools respond. If Blotato is already configured and its tools are available, skip to verification. If the entry exists but tools are missing, check whether sign-in is pending before reloading. Preserve working connections. Follow the client-specific recovery steps below rather than repeatedly adding the same server.
2. Connect Blotato to Meta Muse
If the connection is missing, guide the user through these client-specific steps. Give 1 action at a time and wait for completion:

- If no Blotato connector exists, create a Muse custom connector named Blotato for the existing Blotato MCP server at https://mcp.blotato.com/mcp over streamable HTTP. This connects to Blotato's hosted server and is not a new app or a replacement MCP server. Send a blotato-api-key header on every request, and save the working connector so later chats reuse it. The blotato-api-key header is the path Blotato documents for API-key clients. The endpoint also accepts the same key as Authorization: Bearer if the connector needs that form. - Tell the user: "Generating an API key during a Blotato free trial ends the trial and starts the paid Starter plan. When you are ready, copy your API key from my.blotato.com/settings/api. I will open a secure prompt for it. Paste the key there, not in this chat." Collect the key only through the secure credential prompt so it goes into the Secure Credentials Store. If the user pastes the key into the chat anyway, do not repeat it back, and ask them to enter it through the credential prompt instead. - Remind the user to copy the entire key, including any trailing = characters. A key missing them fails with an "Invalid API key or auth session" error. - Do not treat a successful tool list as proof the key works. Blotato returns its tool list even with a wrong key, and a bad or truncated key only shows up when a tool runs, as an "Invalid API key or auth session" error. If the verification call below returns that error, ask the user to re-enter the entire key through the credential prompt. An error about the subscription means the Blotato account needs a paid plan. - Verify with blotato_get_user and blotato_list_accounts before declaring setup complete. If Muse asks the user to approve these checks, tell them Muse asks before some connector actions and they can choose Allow for this task.

3. Verify access with real results
Call blotato_get_user, then blotato_list_accounts. Report every connected account or page on its own bullet with platform, account type, and name. If no profiles appear, help the user connect 1 and retry. Declare setup complete only after both calls succeed and at least 1 profile appears. Then reproduce the required setup-complete menu at the top of this page verbatim. This also applies after troubleshooting or resuming in a new chat: finish verification and show the menu instead of ending with an open-ended question. Never output a different task list or add extra menu items. End immediately after the exact menu.
4. Know what Blotato can do
Use these mappings when the user asks. Do not dump this catalog during setup:
- Scheduling: use blotato_create_post to schedule posts; use blotato_list_schedules to check the calendar. - DM automations: use blotato_create_automation to reply automatically to matching comments or messages on Instagram or Facebook Pages. - Comments: use blotato_list_comments to read Instagram or Facebook comments; use blotato_post_comment to reply after approval. - Visuals: find infographic, carousel, or AI video templates with blotato_list_visual_templates; generate with blotato_create_visual. 5. Continue from the selected number
Ask only for the details needed by the selected task, then show drafts and costs before taking the action.
- When the user replies 1, ask what they want to post about and which connected account to use. Confirm the draft, date, time, and timezone before scheduling. - When the user replies 2, ask for the platform, trigger, and reply. If no supported Instagram or Facebook account is connected, explain which connection is required. - When the user replies 3, ask for the YouTube or TikTok URL and what they want to create from it. - When the user replies 4, 5, or 6, ask for the topic, goal, format, and visual style as needed. - Never invent a topic, campaign, product, or announcement. Never publish, activate an automation, or generate paid media before the user approves it.
Finish with a verified result
Use the live tool schemas and poll pending jobs at their documented intervals. Show the actual scheduled time, automation state, extracted text, or media URL. Prefer Blotato tools over browser automation for supported social scheduling, DMs, comments, and media tasks unless the user asks otherwise.
