X MCP server for social media publishing
Claude cannot reach X by itself. Connect Blotato's MCP server once and it can publish posts (tweets), threads, image posts, video to X from a plain prompt. One hosted endpoint, no developer app, no copy-paste.

How do I post to X with an AI agent?
- Connect your X account. Sign in to Blotato and connect X through the normal login flow. Blotato holds the tokens and refreshes them, so this is the last time you think about auth.
- Add the MCP server to Claude. In Claude, open Settings, then Connectors, then add a
custom connector pointing at
https://mcp.blotato.com/mcp. Claude Code and Cowork take the same URL. - Ask Claude to post. Write it the way you would say it out loud: "Break this article into a 6-tweet thread and publish it to X." Claude calls the publish tool and Blotato puts the post live.

It does not yet cover comments and direct messages on this platform, so if that is what you need, this is the wrong tool and it is better you know now. X moved most engagement and messaging endpoints to paid tiers above the self-serve plans in 2026, so covering them would mean passing that cost through.

Why not just build it against the Twitter API?
X (still widely called Twitter) moved most write access behind paid API tiers, and the pricing has shifted more than once, so a hand-built integration is exposed to both the bill and the next change to it.
You can absolutely build it yourself, and if X is the only network you will ever post to, that is a reasonable call. The trade shows up at the second platform: every network has its own auth model, its own upload flow, and its own review process, and they change on their own schedules. Blotato is one endpoint across nine of them, at a flat price that does not move when you post more.

Twitter MCP server or X MCP server: what is the difference?
There is no difference. Twitter became X in 2023, and the network, the API, and the MCP tooling are the same thing under both names. Most people still search for a Twitter MCP server, and most tools are still listed under both, so if you landed here looking for Twitter, you are in the right place.
What does differ is what each server actually does. Most of the Twitter MCP servers you will find are open-source wrappers around the X API that you clone, host, and supply your own developer credentials to. X also ships its own official MCP server, which connects an AI tool to the X API under your account permissions. Both are real options, and both leave you managing X API access and its per-call pricing yourself.
Blotato is the hosted alternative: it holds the X connection, so you never create a developer account, load API credits, or maintain a server. The tradeoff is honest, though. If you want to read timelines, search tweets, or pull follower data, an open-source Twitter MCP server or the official X one is the better fit.
