I Hit 3 Million Followers on Social Media! (What I've Learned)
I crossed 3M followers across nine platforms, solo, on $0 in ads. The lessons that actually moved the number, and the publishing system behind them.
Today I crossed 3,000,000+ followers.
Thank you for that. Every one of those three million is a person who decided a stranger on the internet was worth their attention, and a lot of you have been here since the early videos nobody watched. You kept showing up, you told me what you were stuck on, and you sent this stuff to your friends. That is the entire reason any of it worked.
I never wanted to be an influencer. I like learning, building, and teaching, and social media happens to be the only thing that lets me do all three at once, for free, at scale. The follower count is a scoreboard. The system underneath it is the part actually worth writing down, because that is the part you can copy.
I got here solo. No team, no agency, no ad budget, while building a software company at the same time. That combination is only possible because I stopped publishing by hand.
Why I Built Blotato in the First Place
I was drowning in my own content.
Every idea I have needs to exist as a Reel, a TikTok, a YouTube video, a Threads hook, a LinkedIn post, an X post, a carousel, and a Substack essay. That is eight artifacts from one thought, because reach lives wherever the reader already is and every platform rewards a different shape.
Doing that by hand, I could ship maybe one idea a week. Rewriting captions, resizing videos, juggling four schedulers, uploading the same clip six times. Most weeks the tooling took longer than the thinking.
So I built the thing I needed: one place that reshapes an idea for every platform and publishes it everywhere. I used it on myself first, and Blotato is that system productized. Today I publish 250+ platform-ready posts per week as one person. One idea a week became 250 posts a week the moment the manual step disappeared.

Those are real numbers from a single 30-day window on the way here: 41.9M organic views across six platforms, no ads. I wrote the full breakdown in how I got 41.9M views in 30 days, but the short version is that better distribution did the work.
What I’ve Learned Getting to 3 Million
Followers are a byproduct. I have never once set out to gain followers. I set out to make something worth sending to a friend, then made sure it existed everywhere that friend might be. The count is what happens afterward, and it accrues fastest on the platforms I was least precious about. That is also the whole of my personal brand strategy, such as it is.
Volume only compounds if it is free. 250 posts a week is impossible if each one costs you an hour of fiddling. I batch a week of content in one morning, which only works because the publishing itself is free. The moment publishing cost me nothing, I could afford to be wrong in public constantly, and being wrong constantly is how you find the thing that works.
The opener is the whole game. Not talent, not the niche, not posting five times a day. The first line of a post, the first three seconds of a video, whatever makes a person stop scrolling. So I stopped guessing at it. I find something that already went viral in my topic, keep its opener word for word, and remix everything after it with my own story and my own proof. Millions of people already voted on that opener. Copying it is not cheating, it is refusing to re-run an experiment someone else already finished.
If you are starting from zero, that compresses into about a month. Spend the first few days picking one topic and actually committing to it. Spend the rest of week one saving twenty openers that stopped your own scroll. Then post once a day for two and a half weeks remixing proven winners, and only in the last stretch start making things fully in your own voice. Sixty minutes a day. That is the entire job.
Nine platforms is insurance. Facebook carried most of my reach one month. It will not next month. Algorithms move, formats cool off, a platform buries links on a Tuesday. Feeding every platform from the same idea means I always have a shot at wherever the reach shows up, and I never have to guess right in advance.
None of that requires a team. It requires that publishing stop being a thing you do with your hands.
How I Actually Run It Now
I do not open a dashboard to publish anymore. I point Claude at our MCP endpoint, mcp.blotato.com/mcp, and describe what I want. Claude reshapes the idea per platform and posts it. That is the entire workflow, and it happens inside the same conversation where I wrote the thing.
The reason it collapses that far is that publishing is one call underneath. One request, nine platforms, no UI. That is the social media API. The MCP server is just that API in a shape an agent can hold. Connect it once, and every future post becomes a sentence instead of a session.
That is how more and more of our API signups arrive now: straight from Claude, never touching the app. If you want the exact setup, here is how to post to social media with Claude. Coming from no-code, here is how MCP compares to n8n and Make.
One note if you are here for the API specifically: skip the free trial and start on Starter. API access is not included in the trial, and generating a key activates the paid plan anyway, so go straight to what you came for.
What 3 Million Actually Bought Me
My mission is to teach 10 million people AI for free, so no one gets left behind. Three million is 30% of the way there, which is the only reason I am comfortable posting the number at all.
I can teach for free because my startup pays for it. That is the whole design. I am not selling you a $2,000 mastermind, a course, or a coaching call, because I do not need to. The software funds the teaching, and the teaching stays free.
Here is what the timeline does not show you. I made Forbes 30 Under 30 while sleeping on a mattress in a living room with no walls. I sold my company to Pegasystems and still burned out badly enough that I moved near the mountains and dropped 50 lbs to get my health back. Achievement alone does not create freedom. You need control over your time, your income, and your health.
My own start was ugly too. Forty-five days of daily posts before a single person cared. Anxious, stressed, fairly sure I was humiliating myself in public. The system works, but it works on a delay, and most people quit the week before it kicks in.
To everyone grinding through the early, ugly stage: the chaos you are feeling is not a glitch. It IS the learning.
Where to Find Me
I publish daily on all of these. Pick whichever you actually use:
Instagram · TikTok · YouTube · LinkedIn · X · Facebook · Threads · Substack
If you take one thing from this, do not let it be the number. Let it be the boring insight underneath it: one person can reach three million people because publishing stopped being something I do and became something the system does.
Run the same system on your accounts. 7,000,000 to go.
