Feed cut-offs are approximate desktop values: they mark roughly where the feed shows "...more" and hide the rest, not a hard limit. Mobile usually truncates earlier (LinkedIn nearer 140, Facebook nearer 125), so keep the hook early. Most limits come straight from each platform's own docs (X, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest, Threads, Bluesky). Instagram's organic caption limit (2,200) and Facebook's post limit (63,206) are not published by Meta but are the long-standing, widely-reported figures. Verified August 2026. 01 What is the Instagram character limit?
Instagram captions cap at 2,200 characters. Your bio is 150, your username is 30, and comments cap at 2,200 as well. The feed only shows about the first 125 characters of a caption before hiding the rest behind "...more", so the practical limit for anything you need people to read is much lower than 2,200. Paste your caption above and both numbers update live.
02 How many characters of my Instagram caption actually show?
Around 125 before the "...more" cut. Everything after that is one tap away, which most people never take. Put your hook and any question in the first 125 characters and treat the rest as detail for the people who expand it. The counter flags the cut-off point in amber as you type.

04 What is a feed cut-off?
Most platforms show only the first part of your caption in the feed, then hide the rest behind "...more" or "See more". Instagram cuts off around 125 characters, TikTok around 100, LinkedIn around 210, and Facebook around 477. Your caption can be well under the hard limit and still get truncated, so your hook has to land before the cut. The tool flags this in amber.
05 How many hashtags can I use on each platform?
Instagram cut its hashtag limit from 30 down to about 5 in late 2025, and can suppress reach on posts that use more. YouTube ignores all hashtags once a video has more than 60, and only the first 3 show above the title. Threads surfaces one topic tag per post. X, LinkedIn, Facebook, and Bluesky have no hard cap, but 1 to 5 is the norm. Pinterest technically allows hashtags but they carry little weight now. The tool counts the hashtags in your caption and warns when you cross a cap.
