WHAT IT ACTUALLY CLEANS

Metadata and hidden marks are different from visible logos

“AI watermark” now describes several unrelated signals. A file can contain hidden Unicode characters, C2PA provenance, EXIF details, or model-specific metadata. An image may also carry a watermark inside its pixels. A visible badge is another problem again.

This tool returns a cleaned copy for supported formats and lists the actions it performed. It does not promise to erase Claude's model-level text watermark, OpenAI's pixel-level SynthID, or a visible logo painted into an image. Keep that distinction when you review the result. One more thing before you clean a file to dodge a platform's AI label: check whether you can remove the label at all. TikTok states outright that the label cannot be removed after posting, and on YouTube, C2PA metadata in an upload permanently locks the disclosure setting, so stripping it forfeits the correction path rather than the label.

What a controlled test confirmed this cleaner does

On August 18, 2026 we pushed synthetic fixtures with known code points and known metadata fields through this exact tool and checked every field in the output. The full methodology and results are published, and the short version is below.

  • Confirmed removed: hidden Unicode code points from pasted text, EXIF, XMP, and IPTC metadata from JPEG and PNG, PNG text chunks including the caBX chunk C2PA uses to carry its manifest, and document metadata from a well-formed PDF.
  • Confirmed preserved: bidirectional text controls and emoji sequences, so Arabic and Hebrew captions and multi-glyph emoji come through intact instead of shattered.
  • Confirmed untouched: the pixels. Every decoded pixel in the cleaned images matched the source exactly, which is why a pixel-level signal like SynthID is out of scope by design.
  • The trap the test found: a deliberately malformed PDF came back reporting success while every planted field survived. The action report was the only thing that gave it away. Read the report on every result, not the status.

01 Is this AI watermark remover free?
Yes. Clean supported text and files without a Blotato account. Each upload can be up to 2.5 MB.
02 Can it remove Claude watermarks?
It removes generic hidden Unicode characters and supported file metadata that may exist in Claude output. Those are separate from Claude's model-level text watermark, which this tool does not promise to erase. A cleaned result is not proof that a person wrote the text.
03 Can it remove ChatGPT image watermarks?
It can clean supported metadata, including metadata carried in common image files. OpenAI images may also contain SynthID inside the pixels. Metadata cleaning does not guarantee that a pixel-level SynthID signal is gone.
04 Does this remove visible logos from images?
No. This cleaner targets hidden characters and supported metadata. It does not inpaint a logo, badge, stock-photo overlay, or other visible mark painted into the image.
05 Where does my file go?
Your submission passes through a Blotato function to Sabrina Ramonov's dedicated cleaner, which processes it and returns the result. Blotato does not add it to your account or media library. Because processing occurs outside Blotato, do not submit confidential files.
06 Which file types can I clean?
The cleaner accepts pasted text plus TXT, Markdown, HTML, SVG, JSON, CSV, common code and config files, PDF, DOCX, ODT, PNG, JPG, WebP, AVIF, HEIC, and HEIF. Some formats carry marks the cleaner cannot change, so read the action report after every result.
